100 Days of Joy: Day Four

Today was a really good day!

Following a wonderful Thanksgiving with family yesterday, my husband and I took the long way home and stopped by a mall about 10pm. I had never been black Friday shopping before and it was so exciting to have a new experience.

The traffic, the war for any available parking space, the flow of people that will stop for nothing and no one — it was all beyond exhilarating! Something about being in the middle of all that movement and noise made me come alive inside.

I won’t lie, I pretty much clung to the arm of my man like a child afraid to get lost for the first while, the flow of traffic pushing us, unable to stop or even slow down until we pulled off to a safe corner or found solace in a store, which themselves were still in constant movement. It was like a high, and I loved the ride.

We made it to bed pushing 2am this morning, falling into a sleep so deep I don’t remember anything until waking this morning at 11am! I don’t remember the last time I slept in that late and it was wonderful. Of course the moment I woke up though, my best friend was ringing my phone begging me to join her for some more shopping.

Oh boy did was shop, and laugh, and get lost in the glamour of Christmas, yes Christmas! The lights, trees, smells of cranberries and gingerbread. I felt so happy and free all day today, and I refused the feeling of guilt or impending unhappiness. Embracing the joy of life, I just let go and had fun, preparing for this holiday season ahead.

Now, sitting comfortably at home in my cozy bowl chair, I feel content and at ease. Life is full possibilities and happiness that I am taking without shame.

Here is a cleansing affirmation I found in “The Game of Life and How to Play It”, a book that is the main inspiration for this challenge. I will focus on this for the next few days as I work to keep my perspective:

I now smash and demolish, by my spoken word, every untrue record in my subconscious mind.

They shall return to the heap of their native nothingness, for they came from my own vain imaginings.

I now make my perfect records through the Christ within. The records of health, wealth, love and perfect self expression.

What fun did you get into today and how was your Thanksgiving?

If you were faced with a negative person you could not overcome, remember that we only control ourselves, and continue to be the positive light. Light will always overcome darkness in the end.

XOXO,

Erika the Unicorn Queen
