100 Days of Joy: Day Fifteen

Today was good with a wonderful ending. Walking into work, I replied to all the, “How are you?” greetings with “Fabulous!” I could tell the attitude spread and the day was off to a great start!

As I walked through the hall, I was greeted by a lit Christmas tree which just made me happier. There’s something about this time of year that seems to bring magic to everything.

A white board set in the middle of the office had a question, “What do you love most about this time of year?”

What an awesome way to stir great conversation! Throughout the day I kept walking by and adding things that I love.

When I got home this evening, I set to doing some serious de-cluttering in an effort to make room for Christmas decor. My son was so excited to help, bringing the magic of Christmas into our home through lights, Santas and snowmen.

My favorite part of Christmas decorations has always been the manger scene. Having that symbol with the baby Jesus always awakens something deep inside of me.

My first Christmas with my husband, I had lost my old manger scene in a move and wanted a new one so badly. My mother-in-law gave one to me and I have treasured it ever since. This year, I had my son help me set it up and I saw the light in his eyes that I felt.

Christmas is very much in full swing now. Even my husband seemed lighter and happier when he came home to the lights and colors of Christmas. This weekend we will get our tree, and start putting presents beneath it. It is going to be a Christmas to remember!

What exciting things are you doing for Christmas? Is your tree up, have you bought gifts yet?

Share the joy and love with everyone you meet! And let’s take the seasons joy into next year.
