100 Days of Joy: Day Twenty-Six

Today was amazing. I must apologize for missing yesterday, I fell asleep at the end of all the festivities. Let’s catch up!

Yesterday I spent the day with my husband. We were both off work and had some time to go Christmas shopping together. It was so much fun! Something about having time just the two of us, even if it’s out shopping, we always bond and are happy by the end of the day. Always take time with your spouse!

Today I spent some time with my boys and then we went to my Aunt and Uncle’s for our annual outdoor movie night to watch “Elf”! It is maybe the greatest Christmas movie ever made. Will Farrell as the innocent, fun loving Elf that takes on the big city in search of his long lost dad. I love it, not only because it’s freaking hilarious, but also because of the wonder and amazement Buddy the Elf has over everything. We should all be a little more like Elf, I think.

My days aren’t perfect. I have times where I just feel defeated and worthless. But I’m focusing on my blessings, not dwelling there for long. I’m doing a lot of self talk, reminding myself the truth, rather than letting my emotions control and hold me back.

I did think today that I haven’t been saying affirmations like I had been, so I’ll start doing that again. Start your day with that and it goes a long way.

I also got some writing in, which has really helped my attitude as well. Making progress on something I’m passionate about. It was a page and a half, but I’m faithfully squeezing in where I can.

Do that, take time to do something that makes you happy. It’ll go a long way to a happy life.

What is it that makes you happy? Share with me in the comments.
